Buyers
Know the measurements of person you are buying for and make sure the item
details match those measurements before making an offer. If there is any
question contact the seller for clarification, or better yet, schedule a
fitting (if possible).
Here are the measurement guidelines to use for items posted on Grace’s Skate
Closet. Note that measurement techniques vary from one manufacturer to the
next, so be careful with your measurements. For Grace’s Skate Closet use these
guidelines. If your measurements are close to the top of the size brackets, in
more than one category, consider purchasing an item in next larger size.
To ensure the best possible fit, follow the steps below.
Take your measurements using these guidelines.
1. Chest or Bust: This is measured at the fullest point as shown below
(taken with a deep breath).
2. Waist: This is measured at the smallest point as shown below (at the
natural waistline).
3. Hips: This is measured at the fullest point as shown below (around
the fullest part of the buttocks).
4. Girth or Torso: This is the Most Important Measurement. This is
measured from the center of the shoulder, down the front, through the crotch,
and up the back to the starting point. Have the skater stand tall (back
straight), but relaxed. Be sure to keep the tape taut and not twisted.
For pants:
5. Inseam Measurement: This is the length of the leg from the crotch to
one inch above the floor. Measure in stocking feet.

TO DETERMINE SIZING
Apply measurements to the Grace’s Skate Closet Standardized Size Chart below.
If all your measurements do not fall within the same GSC size column, use the
column that best represents your largest measurements. Please note: the torso
measurement is the most important measurement followed by the chest and hip
measurements; the least important measurement is the waist.
For Sleek Fit: choose according to size chart
For Comfortable Fit or Growing Room: choose one size larger

Sellers
Sizes vary tremendously from one manufacturer to the next. So
please don’t simply look at the tag. If you know the actual measurement range
for your item, fantastic! Put the actual measurement range in the details. List
your item in the GSC size category based on this size (not the tag). This will
help ensure that a particular size can be easily found on our site. If you do
not know the fitting measurement range for your item, please find these
measurements from the items manufacturer (usually posted on their website). A
few size charts for the more common manufactures are shown below (please email
us others you know and we will add them). When specifying the size range,
consider how stretchable the dress is. If all the measurements do not fall
within the same GSC size column, use the column that best represents the
largest measurements.
Sizes below the Girls’ X-Small may be posted in the Girls’ X-Small category,
but please make special notes to clarify the size is xx-small. Sizes above the
Ladies’ X-Large may be posted in the Ladies’ X-Large category, but please make
special notes to clarify the size is xx-large.

If you don’t know the fitting dimensions for an item you want to list but do know the manufacturer and tag size (e.g. Rebel S 8-10). You can find the dimensions in the chart below to place in your advertisement (e.g. Chest 23-26, waist 21-22, hips 25-27, girth 43-45). You should use these dimensions in the GSC chart above to determine what size category to place your item on our site (e.g. Girls’ Small). |

NOTE that Rebel measures Girth differently than GSC
Rebel’s Girth Measurement: With someone's help, run the tape measure from the right shoulder at the corner of the neck. Make sure to go over the fullest part of the chest, down through the center of the crotch. Finally, go up your back to the corner of the neck on the left shoulder. Be sure to keep the tape taut and not twisted. The measuring tape ends should not meet.
